got it with 7 tips + power adapter from ali express (7x10=70$ 124-70=54$ with a choice for eu/us plug)

KailecI've been using the included BC-2 with pretty good results, though it is not optimal. I thought the conical tip would be a must-have, but from what I've researched, they don't carry much heat in the point. I've never used mine. Again, from research, the chisel tip (D24) is probably the best all-around tip (see this video: https://youtu.be/J5Sb21qbpEQ). This drop reminded me to try to find a couple of the chisel tips.
Ended up just buying the extra tips at banggood.
sorry, dear massdrop, i paid $45.55 for the soldering iron + $5.46 for a power adapter on banggood, this _indcuded_ shipping. of course i did't get extra tips that i don't need now. so no, not this time.

p.s. i'm not saying banggood has a better deal, just that i got exactly what i needed without paying extra.
tivasykYou are right, the price is cheaper on BangGood with currently running coupon code "WELDTOOL" even if you add all of the tips. (don't add things as a package on BG, if you do the coupon will not apply) Even more so if you already have a spare laptop adapter laying around with the right connector or a universal.
silverlpThe design is open-source as well is the firmware. They are the same exact thing. Thanks for the find, I did some research after you posted this, and that's what I came up with.
I like my first one so much that I'll order a backup. However, I also want to add TWO D24 tips. I don't see any way to do that without ordering a whole second kit. Am I missing something? (Probably)
I bought my first SEEED Mini soldering iron early in 2016. I was skeptical because I already have a nice Weller soldering station with different tips. It's robust, sturdy and gets the job done. But there was an instance where I needed to solder some leads in my car and working with the Weller made it challenging. It's big. Sure, I have had some basic soldering irons, but they all stopped working, so I no longer had a compact one.
Since I acquired the SEEED, I've been using it exclusively for all jobs. I now actually regret having the Weller because it may not get used again. I'm so happy with the SEEED, that I got a second one from a second drop in 2016 for a friend. When I joined the drops, I chose to get the additional tips and I have now used 3 out of the 4 so far. Love this tool!
